The government has appointed Anders Ahnlid Ambassador to Helsinki. He currently serves as Permanent Representative of Sweden to the EU. Anders Ahnlid will assume his new post in November.
Ambassador Ahnlid has more than two decades of experience as a diplomat and negotiator in trade, investment and development policy at the multilateral level, notably within the OECD, the EU and the WTO/GATT. From 2011-2013, he served as the Swedish Ambassador to the OECD and to the UNESCO. Prior to that, he was Director-General for Trade at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. He is the author of numerous articles on trade policy and trade negotiations.
