French energy giant Neoen is positioning itself to become a leading player in the Swedish renewable energy market

One of the world’s leading independent producers of renewable energy, French company Neoen has established itself in Sweden since autumn 2020, investing €200 million in wind, solar, and energy storage projects across the country. Neoen has a “develop to own” strategy where it remains the sole owner of its projects’ entire life and operation. The company’s first Swedish project is the Storbrännkullen wind farm in Jämtland, while it is building a solar park next to Hultsfred Airport in collaboration with Alight. Neoen is awaiting permits for a dozen or so new projects and aims to be involved in Sweden’s transition to a 100% renewable energy system by 2040.
