CEO of Telia Sweden hands in her notice

Mundus Weekly

The CEO of Telia Sweden, Helene Barnekow, has chosen to resign from her post. While several sources claim that it was not her wish to leave, the resignation was a “personal decision”, Barnekow told Dagens Industri.

Svenska Dagbladet’s Patricia Hedelius describes Barnekow’s move as “expected” but questions whether it is enough for the company to get back on its feet. For several years, Telia has suffered from a lack of cost control in the Swedish home market and poor performance. The CEO of Telia Company Johan Dennelind will temporarily take over Barnekow’s duties until a successor has been appointed.
