Israel protests against Swedish UN vote

Sweden voted yes to the UNESCO-resolution this Tuesday, which, among other things, was critical of Israel’s claims to sovereignty over Jerusalem. Svenska Dagbladet reports that the Israeli head of its Western Europe department to Sweden calls this a “systematic Swedish voting behaviour”. Sweden was the only European country to vote yes to the resolution, which coincided with Israel’s independence day. The Israeli ambassador to Sweden is critical of the voting, calling it “nothing other than shameful”. The Israeli ministry of foreign affairs has now summoned the Swedish ambassador.
