Law and order top public issue for elections

The most important issue for voters this year is law and order followed by immigration and healthcare, writes Expressen, following research with pollsters Demoskop. Some 19% of Swedes believe that law and order is the most important topic, double what voters answered last year. “Old norms that the election campaigning is all about health, schools, care and work does not seem to apply this time. The public’s fear for crime has gone up and especially among women,” says Peter Santesson, Head of Opinion Analysis at Demoskop. The investigation also looked into what parties the public deemed to have the best policies regarding the different important topics, with the Moderate Party seen to have the best policies on law and order, alongside the economy, jobs and defence.
