The Minister for International Development Cooperation and Climate, Isabella Lövin (MP), and the Governor of the American state of California, Edmund G Brown Jr, write an opinion piece in Aftonbladet together, announcing the climate alliance between California and Sweden. “Sweden and California both have ambitious climate targets and goals for clean energy. For example, Sweden and California are both pioneers in setting the price on carbon dioxide emissions. We realise that fast measures to stifle climate change and creating an economy with low carbon dioxide emissions will benefit us financially, as well as when it comes to research, jobs, innovation, investments, growth, and trade”.
In a press release, Isabella Lövin said that, "California is the world's sixth largest economy and an important force in global efforts to tackle climate change. We look forward to constructive and enhanced cooperation in areas such as research, innovation, trade and industry, policies, policy levers and measures to reduce climate emissions."
